Tom and Viv Szulist have a vision of a new way of farming in Niagara
County,NY. Building off the sucess of Viv's family's business, Singer
Farms, and their generous ideal of bettering lives through healthier and
better tasting produce, they have undertaken a project which will stand as
a beacon for doing things right.
I am involved in the rehabilitation of a 180 year old barn on their property.
The will be transformed into a super energy efficient building that will lose
none of its original character. We will use strawbales, clay, locally milled
lumber, salvaged lumber, SIPs, Solar hot water and electric, to make this
building comfortable healthy and Self sufficient. The barn ,when
completed, will be used as a retail space, a learning center, and a venue for
small events.
